These Terms and Conditions set out the terms and conditions of the Promoter and TLC in relation to any participating players of The Ladbrokes Players Cup National 5 A-Side Tournament (“The Ladbrokes Players Cup 2024”).
Participation instructions are deemed to form part of these Terms and Conditions and by participating, all players will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please retain a copy for your information.
Promoter: LC International Limited, Suite 6, Atlantic Suites, Europort Avenue, Gibraltar (also referred to as “Promoter” or “Ladbrokes”).
Administrator: TLC Marketing Worldwide UK Ltd, 54 Baker Street, London, W1U 7BU (also referred to as “Administrator” or “TLC”).
Promotional Period
The Ladbrokes Player Cup 2024 will start on 18th May 2024 and end on 13th July 2024.
Registration Period:
1a. Registration will open on 25.03.2024 and close depending on the preferred pitch location of the player. See table below for relevant closing dates and times:
1b. The maximum number of teams per Qualifying Heat will not change, however the teams split (Men/Women) may be subject to variation, if the maximum number of teams is not reached per division in a specific location. For example: if, at Cardiff, only 39 Men teams (3 less than maximum number) and 23 Women teams (5 more than maximum number) showed up, 21 Women teams would be allowed to participate, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Eligibility:
2. To participate in The Ladbrokes Players Cup 2024, players must:
- be over 25 years old at the point of registration of The Ladbrokes Players Cup 2024;
- be resident in the UK or Republic of Ireland;
- have registered with The Ladbrokes Players Cup 2024 (see ‘How to Register’ paragraph below); and
- not be self-excluded on any accounts they may hold with Ladbrokes or any other brand operated by the Promoter, including with any National Self-Exclusion scheme, or have other restrictions on such accounts, being those restrictions that the Promoter may apply to comply with its legal and regulatory responsibilities.
- The Promoter may carry out further checks as set out in term 2d. above during the course of The Ladbrokes Players Cup 2024, including in the time between the Qualifying Heats and Final Tournament. Should any player be found to be self-excluded or have any restrictions on any accounts as outlined above, they will not be able to continue to play for their team or take part in The Ladbrokes Players Cup 2024 or win any Prizes.
The Ladbrokes Players Cup 2024
The Ladbrokes Players Cup 2024 will include several qualifying football Heats (each one a “Qualifying Heat”) being held across 6 locations on pre-selected weekends in the UK & ROI (see table in term 1 for Qualifying Heats dates) with a final tournament being held in Birmingham on 13/07/2024 (the “Final Tournament”).
- There will be a maximum number of teams allowed to participate per location (see table at term 1 for breakdown, maximum 354 teams in total). Team entry (detailed below) will be subject to availability on a first-come, first-served basis.
- The Ladbrokes Players Cup 2024 will be separated into a Men’s division and Women’s division. Players must select the relevant division they are to participate in at the point of registration. For the avoidance of doubt mixed teams will not be permitted. Teams comprised of Men will not be permitted to play in the designated Women’s Tournament.
- The 6 locations will hold a Qualifying Heat for one day over a pre-selected weekend. The final two teams remaining at the end of each Qualifying Heat from both the Men’s and Women’s divisions, will gain their place into the Final Tournament, taking place at Birmingham on 13th July 2024.
- The 12 remaining Men’s teams and the 12 remaining Women’s teams from all the Qualifying Heats will gain access to the Final Tournament, where they will compete for their chance to be the overall winner for their division and receive the Main Prize.
- Each Qualifying Heat will be an all-day event from 9am until 8pm with all matches being played from 11am until 5.30pm.
- Any non-participating person on the day, such as friends and family (the “Spectators”) are welcome to the venue but will be managed on a first-come, first-served basis and will be dependent on the maximum capacity of the relevant venue.
- Spectators will have to be 25 or over and show photographic ID plus sign a waiver to accept content being used for promotional activity upon entry to the venue.
- On the day of any Qualifying Heat and/or the day of the Final Tournament, players must take note of the following rules:
- players must bring photo ID (i.e. Passports, UK driver’s licences, or National ID cards showing name, DOB and address);
- players will need to sign an image consent form to accept that their image will be included in content being used for promotional activity;
- suitable footwear is required for players: Astro turf trainers or moulded boots. Please note that studs or blades are not permitted;
- shin pads are compulsory for all players;
- jewellery is not permitted;
- the referee’s word is final on all matches;
- the Promoter has the right to remove any team for poor conduct such as: violent behaviour, abusing staff/referees, being under the influence of alcohol and recreational drugs; and
- if a team shows up late/ past the registration cut off time of 10.30am at all venues they run the chance of forfeiting their place in the Qualifying Heat.
Once a player has registered and competed for a team in a Qualifying Heat, they will not be able to play for any other team entered into The Ladbrokes Players Cup 2024. The confirmed team players who take to the field at their Qualifying Heat, will be the ones who represent said team at the Final Tournament, if they qualify. If for any reason any of the team players cannot attend, including where a team player may be injured, the Promoter will review on a case-by-case basis and will have the final say if the team can still participate.
How to Register
- To register in The Ladbrokes Players Cup 2024, players must visit www.theladbrokesplayerscup.co.uk and enter their details (see term 13 below) within the Registration Period of their preferred location (as defined in term 1).
- To complete registration, the following details will be required:
- full name;
- date of birth;
- current valid email address;
- home address; and
- mobile number.
- It is a player’s responsibility to ensure that all details provided are correct and entered in full as they would appear on a passport, driver’s license or national ID card. The player’s details will be processed through an identity verification check. This will be done using TransUnion for any players based in the UK. For ROI players a manual check will be carried out on-site on the day of event. Players who are not able to be verified through this process will not be able to create an account and/or participate in The Ladbrokes Players Cup 2024.
- Once a player’s details have been verified, the player will then be able to set a password and verify their email address to create their Ladbrokes Players Cup 2024 account (the “Account”). Players can then choose to “Create a team as a Captain” or “Join an existing Team”. Players will also be required to specify if they wish to participate in the Men’s division or Women’s division.
- Max one Account registration and team participation per player. Any players attempting to play for more than one registered team will not be able to participate further and risks both their original and new team being disqualified.
Team Entry
- Teams must have a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 7 players to be eligible to participate in The Ladbrokes Players Cup 2024.
- Players will need to comply with any rules of play of The Ladbrokes Players Cup 2024 communicated to them.
- Teams must be single-sex. Mixed teams will not be accepted. Teams must participate in the division relevant to their gender.
- To enter a team into The Ladbrokes Players Cup 2024, there must be one player who, after registering an Account, selects to ‘Create a team as a Captain’. That player must then:
- give their team a name;
- share their assigned unique team code with up-to six friends (teammates).
- Players who have received a unique code to ‘Join an existing Team’ must:
- register an Account, or if already registered, log into their Account;
- select ‘Join an existing Team’;
- Once a team has met the minimum-5-player threshold, their Captain must then complete the two below steps in order to confirm their participation in the Qualifying Heat;
- select a Qualifying Heat location;
- select a Qualifying Heat date;
- Qualifying Heat dates and locations are available on a first-come, first-served basis and subject to availability, so teams are advised to create their team as quickly as possible in order to avoid their preferred location and time becoming unavailable.
- Players can keep track of their team via the ‘Team Dashboard’ in their Account.
- A Captain will hold all admin rights and will be able to remove players from their team or cancel their Qualifying Heat location and date booking slot via the ‘Team Dashboard’.
- If a Captain wishes to remove themselves from any Qualifying Heat, they must assign a new Captain for their team via their ‘Team Dashboard’. The newly assigned Captain will then hold the admin rights and will be able to remove the previous Captain from the Qualifying Heat.
- Where players are required to assign unique names to their teams, any use of foul, abusive, offensive or anti-social language, or any name deemed unsuitable by the Promoter or Administrator, they reserve the right to amend, remove or withdraw the team participation entirely. The Promoter’s and/or Administrator’s decision on this matter will be final.
Prizes
- The Main Prize will consist of a £10,000 cash prize for the team winning the Final Tournament of the relevant division (Men or Women);
- The Main Prize will be paid to the winning team’s Captain via bank transfer. The Captain will need to provide details of a bank account in their name on the day of the Final Tournament and such bank account will need to go through the Promoter’s standard AML and fraud checks;
- The Captain will be responsible for the distribution of the Main Prize to their team players. Once the Main Prize has been paid to the Captain, the Promoter and Administrator shall have no responsibility or liability for if and/or how the Main Prize is distributed;
- The payment of the Main Prize will be made within 45 days of the Final Tournament.
- If for whatever reason, on the day of the Final Tournament, the Promoter and/or the referee determine that the winning team has breached any of the rules of play for The Ladbrokes Players Cup 2024 , the team will be disqualified and the Main Prize will be awarded to the runner-up.. The Promoter and/or the referee’s decision to disqualify a team will be final.
- In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the Promoter reserves the right to provide an alternative Prize of equal or greater value.
- A minimum of £80,000 worth of additional prizes will be available to win during the course of the 6 Qualifying Heats and the Final Tournament; the value and number of the additional prizes, as well as the terms and conditions applicable to them, will be communicated to players on the day.
- All Prizes are non-transferable.
Data usage
- By participating in The Ladbrokes Players Cup 2024, players acknowledge and accept the use of personal data by the Promoter and Administrator according to these terms and conditions and the Promoter’s Privacy Notice.
- A player’s personal details will at all times be kept in accordance with Ladbrokes Privacy Notice and current Data Protection legislation*.
- Any personal data (e.g. full name, date of birth and email address) relating to players will be used solely for the purpose of operating and promoting The Ladbrokes Players Cup 2024. By registering, each player agrees that any personal information provided may be held and used by the Promoter (and/or the Administrator) in order to administer The Ladbrokes Players Cup.
- To verify the details of UK residents; we will forward your name, address and date of birth to a third party (TransUnion) to electronically verify these details. the Promoter). The third party that we use is fully aware of its obligations under the Data Protection Act and will always act in accordance with its provisions. This will not effect your credit rating or score in any way. TransUnion International UK Limited, part of the TransUnion Information Group, is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority under registration number 737740. - An identity check does not leave a visible footprint on the person’s credit file, but it is recorded as a soft footprint. A soft footprint will not impact a person’s credit score, but may be visible as a check carried out by ‘Entain’.
- Manual checks will be run at the venue to verify the details of Republic of Ireland residents
- Players acknowledge that any videos, voice recordings or images taken of them at the pitches may be published on the Promoter’s website/s or made available to the public across the Promoter’s Social Media channels.
- The Promoter will keep any personal information provided by players as part of their entry into The Ladbrokes Players Cup 2024 for a period of 12 months after the Final Tournament.
- Players can exercise their data privacy rights or withdraw from The Ladbrokes Players Cup 2024 at any time by contacting dataprotection@entaingroup.com.
*Data Protection legislation means the UK GDPR and the relevant national privacy laws.
General
- All players who have registered an Account will be deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions.
- The Promoter and the Administrator accept no responsibility for any registrations that are incomplete, corrupted, lost, damaged, delayed or fail to reach the Administrator and any such registrations will not be accepted. The Promoter and the Administrator accept no responsibility for any registrations containing incorrect information.
- The Promoter and the Administrator will not be responsible for the inability of the entrants to attend The Ladbrokes Players Cup 2024.
- Neither the Promoter nor the Administrator will cover any costs, e.g. travel or other expenses, of players attending the Qualifying Heats or Final Tournaments.
- All players agree to comply with all the rules of play and/or terms and conditions that may apply at the pitches.
- Insofar as permitted by law, neither the Promoter nor the Administrator, nor its associated companies, will be responsible or liable to compensate the player, or accept any liability, for (i) any personal loss, expense or damage in connection with entering The Ladbrokes Players Cup except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (including personal injury caused by negligence of the Promoter or the Administrator, death and fraud) in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law; (ii) any injury of players taking part in the Qualifying Heats or Final Tournament; or (iii) any loss, expense or damage arising out of an act or omission of any third party. Neither can they guarantee the quality and/or availability of the service providers and cannot be held liable for any resulting personal loss or damage. A player’s statutory rights are unaffected.
- In the event of circumstances outside its reasonable control, the Promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend The Ladbrokes Players Cup 2024, at any stage, but will always endeavour to minimise the effect to players in order to avoid undue disappointment.
- The Promoter has no control over communication networks and is not liable for any problems associated with them due to website/platform traffic congestion, technical malfunction or otherwise. The Promoter will not be held liable to any individual for any fraud committed by any third party nor for any event beyond its control including, but not limited to, user error and any network, computer, hardware or software failures of any kind which may restrict, delay or prevent a player’s entry to the Promotion or claiming of a Prize.
- The Ladbrokes Players Cup 2024 registration and booking process is administered by TLC Marketing Worldwide UK Ltd. You can contact TLC here.
- If any of these terms should be determined to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable then they shall be severed and deleted from these Terms and Conditions and the remaining terms shall survive and remain in full force and effect.
- These Terms and Conditions and any question concerning the legal interpretation of these Terms and Conditions will be governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes must be referred to the English and Welsh courts unless you live in another part of the UK, in which case your local courts will have jurisdiction.
